Truth: The Tool for Your Making

Truth as God's Tool

Truth is the tool for your making. It is the offer of God to men by which He blesses them. So, give more to truth. There is that which God calls truth.

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'" (John 14:6 NKJV)

"Pilate therefore said to Him, 'Are You a king then?' Jesus answered, 'You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.'" (John 18:37 NKJV)

Truth as Life's Governing Principle

What God has given us as truth is what is required to be the governing principles of our lives.

"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32 NKJV)

It is by the truth of God's word that we are set free.

"Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness." (Titus 1:1 NKJV)

To live a more godly life, you must give more to truth.

"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." (John 17:17 NKJV)

The Power of What We Listen To

What you listen to will determine what your faith is. If you listen to the truth, it will birth faith. If you listen to any thing outside the truth of God, it will produce anxiety, fear, and problems.

Stop being a bearer of negative events about others. It does not help anyone. Most importantly, it is not the truth you are meant to spread.

"Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers." (Ephesians 4:29 NKJV)

Your vocabulary should be free from what God will not sanction as the truth to be communicated. Careless jesting will be accounted for.

God's Desire to Keep Us

God is not just interested in picking us up every time we fall, He is also interested in keeping us from stumbling.

"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy." (Jude 1:24 NKJV)

Choose your association and relationships based on the truth. The quality of your life at the end is the product of the extent by which the truth commands and governs your life.

What Is Truth?

1. Truth Is Who Jesus Is

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life.'" (John 14:6 NKJV)

If you learn to copy the truth, you will learn what the truth is.

2. Truth Is the Holy Spirit

Everything the Spirit does and stands for is the TRUTH.

Everything the Spirit does and stands for is the TRUTH.

"This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth." (1 John 5:6 NKJV)

"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." (John 16:13 NKJV)

Walking in the Spirit is walking in truth, just as walking in truth is walking in the Spirit.

"I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh." (Galatians 5:16 NKJV)

"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit." (Romans 8:5 NKJV)

You must know the truth to be able to judge and discern the Spirit.

What does it mean to live a spiritual life? Your life must be set on the things of the Spirit.

God's Divine Preparations

"However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.'" (1 Corinthians 2:6-9 NKJV)

There are divine preparations that God has made for us.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ." (Ephesians 1:3 NKJV)

"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:32 NKJV)

There is nothing God owns that He is keeping away from you. There is nothing God owns that you have to beg Him to get.

Revelation Through the Spirit

"But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God." (1 Corinthians 2:10-12 NKJV)

"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter." (Proverbs 25:2 NKJV)

"The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law." (Deuteronomy 29:29 NKJV)
Understanding Truth's Reality

Truth is the way things are in the sight of God. Our lives must be of Truth. Jesus says you are not a sinner. Pay attention to the truth and live it out.

Acknowledgment of the truth will grant you godliness. If the word of God finds root in your life, it will produce the same kind of life (of God) in you.

A seed is any item that carries the life and potential of itself inside it. The Word of God is the seed of God to your life.

"Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God." (1 John 3:9 NKJV)

Lessons from the Parable of the Sower

  1. Receive the Seed of the Word
  2. Retain it. Resist its loss. Spiritual things are slippery. Learn to receive it.
  3. Believe it.

"For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe." (1 Thessalonians 2:13 NKJV)

"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" (1 John 5:4-5 NKJV)

Truth Over Problems

Your problem is not as important as the truth even when it seems the truth you are hearing does not correspond with your problem.

"Clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart." (2 Corinthians 3:3 NKJV)

Give more to the truth so that the Spirit can do more in your life.

Conclusion

Truth is God's tool for making and blessing us, manifested through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. By giving more attention to truth than to problems, choosing associations based on truth, and allowing God's Word to take root in our hearts like seed, we position ourselves for the godly life He intends. Remember that the quality of your life is determined by how much truth commands and governs it.
