Sanctified State and Sanctified Walk

Obedience to the Heavenly Vision

Acts 26:9-19 - Referenced in context of Paul's calling and commission.

Acts 26:16 - "But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you."

Acts 26:19 - "Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,"

Lord, throughout my life, I will not be disobedient to the heavenly vision.

Luke 2:49 - "And He said to them, 'Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?'"

Help me to always be found in my Father's business.

Avoiding Worldly Entanglements

2 Timothy 4:10 - "for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia."

1 John 2:15 - "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

James 4:4 - "Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."

When you break away from your ex, you stay away from your ex. It is a breakthrough from your past.

Proverbs 26:11 - "As a dog returns to his own vomit, So a fool repeats his folly."

The Reality of Salvation and Sanctification

If you are saved, you are sanctified.

Colossians 1:13 - "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,"

Acts 26:17-18 - "I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me."

Deuteronomy 6:9-11 - Referenced in context of God's provision and faithfulness.

1 Corinthians 6:11 - "And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."

1 Peter 2:9-10 - "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy."

Understanding Sanctified State and Walk

There is the sanctified state and a sanctified walk. A sanctified walk is possible because a man has been brought into the consciousness of a sanctified state in Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 4:1 - "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,"

Colossians 1:10 - "that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;"

Let your work manifest your sainthood.

Ephesians 5:1-3 - Referenced in context of walking in love and avoiding immorality.

Ephesians 5:5 (CEV) - "Being greedy, indecent, or immoral is just another way of worshiping idols. You can be sure people who behave in this way will never be part of the kingdom that belongs to Christ and to God."

1 Thessalonians 2:10-12 - Referenced in context of godly conduct.

1 Thessalonians 2:12 - "that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory."

Purchased for a Purpose

Acts 20:28 - "Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood."

1 Corinthians 6:16-20 - Referenced in context of our bodies being temples.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 - Referenced in context of living for Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:15 - "and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again."

Live for Him.

God's Will: Your Sanctification

1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 - Referenced in context of holy living.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 - "For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;"

1 Thessalonians 4:7-8 (NIV) - "For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit."

Conclusion

Understanding the distinction between your sanctified state and sanctified walk is crucial for victorious Christian living. While your sanctified state is an accomplished fact through salvation, your sanctified walk requires daily obedience to the heavenly vision and conscious choices to live worthy of your calling. Since you have been purchased with Christ's blood and are now God's temple, every aspect of your life should reflect this sacred reality by avoiding worldly entanglements and manifesting the holiness that already defines your identity in Christ.
