God's Working Power Within Us

God's Active Work Within Us

Philippians 2:13 - "for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."

Colossians 1:29 - "To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily."

Biblical Examples of God's Effective Working

Ephesians 3:6-7, 16 - "that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power. that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,"

Galatians 2:7-8 - "But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter (for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles),"

God's Complete Work in Our Lives

Hebrews 13:20-21 - "Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen."

The Contrast: Love for This World

2 Timothy 4:10 - "for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia."

Our Identity as Light

Matthew 5:14 - "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden."

John 8:12 - "Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, 'I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.'"

The Ultimate Example of Surrender

Luke 22:42 - "saying, 'Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.'"

Conclusion

God's working power within us is both a promise and a present reality that transforms how we live and serve. Just as He worked effectively through Paul for the Gentiles and Peter for the circumcised, He desires to work mightily through each of us according to His purpose and calling. When we surrender our will to His like Jesus did in the garden, we position ourselves to experience His complete work in our lives, making us effective lights in a dark world rather than being drawn away by love for this present age.
