Faith as Our Way of Life

Faith is fidelity to the truth of the Lord.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'The just shall live by faith.'" (Romans 1:16-17 NKJV)

Faith is not something to be switched on with respect to a situation. It is the life we have been called to live.

"But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for 'the just shall live by faith.'" (Galatians 3:11 NKJV)

"Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him." (Hebrews 10:38 NKJV)

Justified by Faith, Walking by Faith

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:1 NKJV)

Our justification is by faith. After we are justified, we are still expected to walk by faith.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight." (2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV)

"While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV)

The life of a Christian is not by sense, perception, emotion but by the truth that is presented to us.

Understanding Truth and Narratives

What is truth? What God reveals a matter to be.

Every time God shines His light on an issue, the perspective is always different from a carnal person.

There is an original narrative and an alternative narrative. God supplies the original narrative while the devil supplies the alternative narrative.

As far as you are grounded in the original narrative provided by God, you do not have to bother about knowing what is good or evil. Just abide by His instructions. That is all you really need.

God-given narrative is the only path to righteousness. The day we deviate from the God-given narrative, we begin to destroy things that are already established in righteousness.

Faith: More Than a Tool

Faith is much more than a checkbook. It is a prerequisite to keep company with God. It is how we walk with God.

The essence of faith is living a life that God Himself can give a testimony of.

"And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him." (Genesis 5:24 NKJV)

"By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, 'and was not found, because God had taken him'; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God." (Hebrews 11:5 NKJV)

May we not live a life that does not attract testimony from God.

Faith as Our Way of Pleasing God

Faith is our way of pleasing God. The proof and goal of faith is not the result but that we please God.

There may be a season when the result does not show up but the result will come. Faith is more about your loyalty and stability with the Lord.

Obedience is faith. Faith is not possible when the Lord's narrative is unknown. You can only believe the Lord when you know the will of God in a matter. When it is known, we are now required to walk in faith—obedience to what He said.

Faith Defined by Christ's Supremacy

Faith is the Christian manner of, and approach to life driven by the knowledge, and consciousness of Christ Jesus being the supreme Lord in whose sufficiency we have all completeness (no deficit, no lack).

He who is supreme owns everything. Jesus is the supreme Lord in whose sufficiency I have my completeness.

Paul said I can do all things through Christ who is the supreme Lord and sufficient.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13 NKJV)

God has chosen to render the required supplies in the situation. In His sufficiency, we have our completeness.

God's Power to Transform

"To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified." (Isaiah 61:3 NKJV)

Any life can change through Jesus. Every situation can change through Jesus.

The Original Sin: Believing the Alternative

The sin of Adam and Eve was not that they ate the fruit but that they believed the devil over and above God.

"So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate." (Genesis 3:6 NKJV)

They had greater regard for their appetite than for God.

Anytime you believe the alternative narrative over that of God, you are repeating the mistake of Adam.

Jesus: Lord of All or Not at All

Jesus is either Lord of all or none at all. It is not either-or.

Always believe Jesus because it shall be as He said. Do not stop believing Jesus.

Believing the Lord is about having a track record that He can testify about. While you are doing this, He will definitely give a testimony about you.

What you want from the Lord is not as important as what God wants to do in your life. You cannot have a desire that is as grand as what God wants to do and accomplish in your life.

The Vision of His Pre-eminence

A vision of His pre-eminence is the basis of all victories. If nothing can compare with Him, nothing can compete with Him.

Labor to ensure that the world does not make you commit to lesser things.

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell." (Colossians 1:15, 18-19 NKJV)

When you really see the Lord, you will have eyes for Him alone.

Conclusion

Faith is fidelity to the truth of the Lord—not a situational tool but the very essence of Christian living. It requires choosing God's original narrative over the devil's alternative, walking by His truth rather than our senses, and living for His testimony rather than immediate results. Like Enoch, we must walk with God in such a way that pleases Him, knowing that in Christ's supremacy and sufficiency we find our completeness and the basis for all victory.
