The Products of Conversion

Righteousness, peace, prosperity are all products of conversion. It is essential that men are converted. That is the reason why Jesus died so that through His provision of salvation, people can be saved.

The Watchman's Responsibility

God established the principle of watchmen through the prophet Ezekiel:

"Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 'Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: "When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand." So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.'" (Ezekiel 33:1-7 NKJV)

We have responsibility towards the unsaved with respect to their eternal destiny. I am responsible for doing something about the eternal destiny of the world.

Salvation Comes with Responsibility

You do not volunteer to be watchman. Your salvation comes with a responsibility to be a watchman. You are responsible to pass on that which you have received or make others also receive it.

Jesus made this clear to His disciples:

"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give." (Matthew 10:8 NKJV)

We have a trumpet to sound, warning to give, and announcement to make. Until you embrace this responsibility, you are a joking Christian.

True Discipleship Through Relationship

True discipleship is not really done in meetings or church but in living together, and learning at the feet of Jesus. Jesus spent more time with the twelve than with the crowd. That is where the real discipleship is being done.

Jesus is the goal of every discipleship. Many of us are not doing what He has sent us to do and as a result, a lot of things will not be as He wants them to be.

God's Commitment to Your Success

Not only did God send men to do things. He also remained committed to the success of such men on the assignment He had given unto them. This is demonstrated in God's words to Joshua:

"After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, saying: 'Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.'" (Joshua 1:1-9 NKJV)

Our Commission from Jesus

Jesus sent us with the same authority He received:

"So Jesus said to them again, 'Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.'" (John 20:21 NKJV)

Jesus succeeded in His assignment and provides our example:

"I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do." (John 17:4 NKJV)

Paul echoed this commitment at the end of his life:

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7 NKJV)

Agents of Change

The arrival of certain people is meant to change existence of men. This was prophesied about Jesus:

"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6 NKJV)

One of the greatest things you can do is to turn men to righteousness. God has not put you around them to despise them for their unrighteousness but rather to be of use to Him to change and turn them back.

The Ministry of Restoration

Scripture emphasizes the value of turning sinners back to righteousness:

"Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins." (James 5:19-20 NKJV)

The Message translation captures this beautifully:

"My dear friends, if you know people who have wandered off from God's truth, don't write them off. Go after them. Get them back and you will have rescued precious lives from destruction and prevented an epidemic of wandering away from God." (James 5:19-20 MSG)

"Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:1-2 NKJV)

Strategic Approach to Change

Christians must learn how to target people. By incarnation, Jesus was inserted into the world of men. Then, by selection, He was able to select those He wants to train and help to attain maturity. He recruited them.

Learn to identify people you will also train and help to attain maturity also. Recruit people for Jesus. Do not wait for evangelism day to target and reach them. Have a list of people you are working towards.

Your Identity as a Change Agent

You are a change agent of Jesus. This calling was made clear to Paul and applies to every believer:

"I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me." (Acts 26:17-18 NKJV)

Conclusion

Being a change agent for Jesus means embracing the responsibility that comes with salvation to serve as a watchman for others' eternal destiny. Through strategic targeting, genuine discipleship relationships, and the ministry of restoration, we participate in God's plan to bring righteousness, peace, and prosperity to the world through conversion. Like Jesus and Paul, our success is guaranteed when we remain committed to the assignment and rely on God's unfailing presence and Word.
